Robert Michael Owen


Son of Michael Owen and Catherine Williams. .

Born in Llanrug, Caernarvonshire in 1822, the second year of the reign of King George IV, and died aged forty-five in the thirty-first year of the reign of Queen Victoria  He has 35 direct descendants in the family.


1851 census shows him resident at 4 Tan-y-Marion, Llanrug with his brother William - a quarryman - and daughters Ellen (8), Catherine (6) and Elizabeth (1).

When Robert Owens was born on 14 April 1822 in Llanrug, Caernarvonshire, his father, Michael, was 37 and his mother, Catherine, was 28. He had three sons and three daughters with Elizabeth Morgan between 1842 and 1865. In 1851 Census he is a House Carpenter- in previous census aged 15 onwards he is a carpenter. He died on 9 October 1868 at the age of 46 in Islington.
