Gertrude Louisa Owen


Daughter of John Morgan Owen and Louisa Julia Brown. .

Born in 1891, the fifty-fourth year of the reign of Queen Victoria, and died aged eighty-one in the twentieth year of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II  She has 14 direct descendants in the family.

Postcard from Arthur


Resident at Martham House, Holway Road, Sheringham, Norfolk - postmark unclear, received a postcard from Arthur with a photo and on the back:
Dear Ger
Just a group of our tent. We had to clean the saddles & rifles specially the day the Duke of Connaught came. We rigged up a dummy Yeoman in the Centre & had this taken. The Dummy is stuffed with pillows.
